Stellenbosch United is a multicultural and multiracial congregation. We have two campuses one in Stellenbosch and one in Kayamandi. The two campuses often worship together and come together at social events and fundraisers.
Stellenbosch United Church is a community inspired by God’s love to explore our journeys of faith together. We listen for the Word of God in the Scriptures and we seek to:
Our congregation's history began in 1899 when we were established as a Presbyterian Congregation. We became the Stellenbosch United Church in 1990, when the congregation decided to unite at a local level with the Uniting Congregational Church of Southern Africa. We therefore represent both the United Presbyterian Church of Southern Africa and the Uniting Congregational Church in Southern Africa.
Stellenbosch United Church has committed itself to living out its faith as a journey of ‘faith, hope and love’. The weekly services of worship, small groups, Workshop Rotation Model and various courses are aimed at deepening our understanding of what it means to be a people who follow the way of Jesus Christ. Through our pastoral care, as well as our involvement in the wider Stellenbosch society, we try to ‘do’ hope in ways that offer life and encouragement to others. In this way we offer ourselves as channels of God’s love in this world.
